Sport climbing is a style of climbing for both indoor and outdoor venues. Sport climbing includes both "Lead" and "Top-Rope" climbing, which are differentiated by the position of the rope saftey point(s) on the route. Our Wednesday beginner sessions will teach you the basics of putting on a harness, tying in and belaying to set you on your climbing way! Sport climbing offers longer routes than bouldering, letting you build some endurance and some love of heights.
Our fortnightly trips to Kendall Wall are great for sport climbing as they have a huge 25m wall! All the gear needed for sport climbing can be supplied by the club, or the university wall if you are climbing at the sports center.
Keep an eye out on the Students' Union page for the beginner sessions, if there currently are not any running and you would like to learn please contact the exec!
