Frequently Asked Questions
Here's some common questions you might want answering. Need more info? Get in touch with the exec via the facebook group, or by emailing lumcclimbing@gmail.com!
Q: Where should I meet for trips?
A: Most trips meet outside University House. This is the opposite side of University House to Alexandra Square, near the Students' Union.
Q: Where is the gear shed?
A: Underneath SPAR, around the corner from Sultans. There are a set of doors marked Slaidburn House. Please let one of the exec know if you need to go to the gear shed so we can let you in.
Q: Can anyone join the climbing team?
A: We hold team trials in freshers' week which is open to everyone, so feel free to come and try out! The team captains then select the team! Team training is twice a week at the Sports Centre, you must be a club member and have at least Bronze Sport Plus membership.
Q: Are the team training sessions open to everyone?
A: No, these sessions are only available for the team members!
Q: Do you need to be a club member to go on trips?
A: Yes, unfortunately this is a requirement from the Students' Union. You can become a member Here
Q: Does being a club member mean you can climb for free at the uni wall?
A: No, the club is not affiliated with the university wall. Concession is £7 (unless you have a gold gym membership). Club members do get cheaper entry on Wednesday afternoons at £3.50.
