Ghyll Scrambling

Ghyll scrambling is the art of climbing up the middle of a steep river (a ghyll in the Lake District) whilst getting as wet as possible. It's immensely good fun and is a club favourite for rainy and sunny days alike.  It's perhaps not as technical as our other activities but there's a lot to be said for having a good splash about!

We also go canyoning, which is travelling down the river instead of up. This usually involves a bit more ropework, planning, and abseiling into waterfalls. Check out the video from one of our summer trips below to see some of the fun.

The club has wetsuits and buoyancy aids to loan out, so don't feel like you can't join in, we've got you covered!
